Trial Frames

Guidelines:

1. Find the frames and lenses you like from our site.

2. Select the option 'Home Trial' .

3. Enter your prescription and personal details in our Customer Order Form and you will be asked to enter your credit card details. (See below about data security).

4. We will send the frames to your home for £3.75 (per pair).

5. Try the frame for fit and comfort without lenses. 6. If you are happy with the frame and want to ensure "BEST FIT" take a photo of yourself wearing it. (See Guidelines for taking photos for PD Readings below) Complete the order form enclosed and send it back to us.

7. We will process your request and charge this to your credit card.

8. Or return the frames within 14 days with no further charge. For our standard range you can try up to two frames at a time, however, due to the popularity and appeal of our designer frames and to ensure that we are able to offer all our customers a home trial facility we will only send one designer frame at a time.

Free Pupillary Distance Reading

Pupillary distance (PD) is the distance, in millimeters, from one pupil to the other. A correct PD will ensure that the lenses are correctly positioned in relation to your eye. The result is a more comfortable pair of glasses with less visual distortion and thus less fatigue.

The optician is not legally required to record your Pupillary Distance. We advise you always ask for this measurement when having an eye test..

Most internet companies will use an average PD measurement (about 63mm) but our customers are not all average and we would rather have a more accurate fitting.

To ensure a proper fitting pair of glasses we will always measure your PD for you. Using the Home Trial frame you like take a photo of yourself wearing it. (see best practice guide in information panel). Otherwise you can take a photograph with a credit card held to your chin (see below examples).

If you can take a digital photo, upload it to your account
If you cannot upload a digital photo attach it to our order confirmation e-mail and send it to us
have a normal postcard sized photo processed and send it back with the frames. (see information panel for guidance)

Taking your photo

Best practice for taking photos for multi-focals fitting.

1. Taking your photograph.

make sure the frames are seated comfortably and naturally on your face
try to fill the frame
look straight at camera
the camera lens needs to be same height as your eyes
make sure that lighting is good
save photo to desktop or in a location you usually use for photos

2. Uploading photos to your account.

click on "your account" above this panel
select "update profile" on the options page.
browse for photo, select and upload
leave the rest to us for better fit glasses.

Every order is checked by our experienced dispensers before we start manufacture
If we find that the frame chosen is not perfectly suitable for your prescription and the lenses you have chosen, we will contact you to discuss alternatives.

When your spectacles are completed,
Your lenses are checked against your prescription.
Lenses are checked for fit in the frame, to ensure they are not too tight or too loose for the frame to ensure they do not crack or fall out.
All frame screws are checked for fit and holding power .
All frames are set up and balanced to ensure the best possible fit and comfort.
Our Quality Control Department will finally check that your glasses are to the highest possible standard before despatch.
